A year ago this week I met the most amazing group of people, and most of them can help you with your business needs....
I met them at the Cardiff Natwest Accelerator. When we joined, this was a 6 month programme that was aimed at helping businesses grow. They put on workshops and events like:
Pitch Club
Group Coaching
A series of talks about Sales
Meet the Mentor (although I never got a mentor!)
They also encouraged us to share our expertise and run our own sessions - so I presented SEO training to my peers, for example.
Another great thing about the Accelerator is you essentially get free working space, bang in the middle of Cardiff!
This year they've changed the format. So now it's more of a 'Community' as opposed to a 'Programme'. You can easily join by:
downloading the Natwest Accelerator app, then
registering and look at the events happening in Cardiff
For me, the best bit about the programme was the 'cohort' i.e. the people I met.
They're such a lovely bunch of people from all walks of life. We seemed to get on really well and were so like-minded. Some of the best tips I picked up in the programme were from informal chats with these individuals. I finally felt like I'd found a group of people I could fit in with. My tribe...

As I'm unable to see them much at the moment (big work contract) I wanted to celebrate them with you, so here I present to you my directory of South Wales businesses that could all help your business.....
Marketing Businesses based in South Wales
Well, you're on my website but you might not know me. I'm Heledd from Heledd Jones Marketing and if you need marketing support in South Wales, look no further! The yin to my yang. I was so chuffed Georgina signed up to the same cohort as me - we vaguely knew other but got to know each other so much better as part of the programme! Georgina's business Glew marketing offers strategic marketing support and I've seen the work she's done on developing customer personas, data analysis that has led into marketing strategies - she's excellent! It's been a pleasure collaborating with her on some projects and hopefully we'll do some more together soon - watch this space.

Lisa Rees and the Wonderful World of Websites is an expert at Wordpress websites, and also runs some really useful in-person sessions to ensure you get the most out of your website.
And if you need photography for your website, social media and everything else then Jo Davies is your woman.
If part of your marketing plan needs Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising or ever wondered what a marketing 'funnel' is, Katie Colella is your gal!
Business Support based in South Wales- from Audits to IT!
If your business needs internal audit support (doesn't everyone?!) then you won't find a lovelier pair than Donna Littlechild and Paul Haley. They've built a great internal audit business that covers everything from audit mapping to cyber security audits.
For your IT needs, Justin from Siarp can help you get your IT systems set up and maintained. An expert in his field but also friendly and funny (which can be rare in the IT world, I can say what I like - this is my website haha!) and can explain complicated things in simple terms!
Need someone to manage your finance? Again, Sarah from Vivo is an expert in the book-keeping and accounting field but makes everything sound so simple.
I met Sarah on day 1 with her sister! Her sister Kirsty runs award-winning Mor Cleaning which could be handy for your office cleaning needs. Mor specialise in eco-friendly cleaning.
Mental Health and Wellbeing support in South Wales and beyond
Three amazing women here for you and your businesses. They are such special people:
Beth and her Fabulous Facilitator business offers a range of services around building confidence eg. through coaching, training etc.
Emma Jay runs Wellfinite which is all about employee wellbeing and she offers a range of packages which you can see on her website. I can vouch for the fact she's very supportive - she's literally given me a shoulder to cry on!
Beth and Emma have also teamed up to create Women's Academy Wales, an initiative that might be well have planned in the Accelerator!
Fabi is just across the water in Bristol but she's definitely an honorary Welsh person :)
She runs Apoyo Courses which offer workplace training on mental health, diversity and inclusion and anti-racism.
Businesses that can help you in other ways
Amaia is another Bristolian who loves Wales. She has years of experience managing big teams in big corporate organisations like Vodafone so now she's set up her own consultancy which improves teams' performance - which in turn saves money and improves morale.
Guto is another ex-corporate (and ex-teacher!) who's set up a business to help others. In this case, he can improve your meeting culture - again, saving money and improving morale. His business MeetBetter is all about 'Meetings that don't suck!'

I got the privilege of supporting Maria Lewis and Reach Your Peak with SEO auditing and planning. Reach Your Peak is aimed at people with early onset of Parkinson's disease, and offers various online programmes to help them manage the symptoms and delay the progression of Parkinson's - it was fascinating to learn how exercise is so important if you have this condition.
And last but not least, the lovely Kelly who gave up corporate life to launch Follow Fleurs Forever which is all about faux floral crafting - she makes and sells DYI kits and runs workshops, she creates some beautiful displays.
So there we go, whatever your business needs there's probably someone here who can help you. Brilliant bunch of people and businesses!
